YOGA SIKSHANA

Yoga means to unite, to link and to connect with the universe. Yoga happens when the movements of the mind are still. We connect the mind through breathing, spirit through meditation and body through exercise. This wonderful balance is the basis of wellbeing of an individual.

How does it help:

Yoga is an amalgamation of improvement of concentration, balance, strength, relaxation and flexibility. Hence, dance and yoga are two rivers stemming from the same source. Yoga gives the necessary body conditioning and endurance to a dancer. Smoother transitions of movements, agility in the body, sustainable practice without injuries, irregular posture corrections, breath control to enhance longer practice routines, opening of muscles and joints to achieve finesse in postures are some of the direct points of relation of yoga to Kuchipudi dance. This has motivated me to undergo certification in Yoga in India, and become a sincere practitioner.

Classes:

Understanding the requirement of the dancers and after a thorough study, I came up with customized yoga structure to support dancers as well as others who would like to begin their journey into Yoga. Each class is of 60 mins duration & comprises of the following structure:

10 mins of Pranayama (breathing exercises)

45 mins of Asanas (postures)

5 mins of cool down session

Feel free to email or contact me regarding classes and further information.
